Arhus
Rådhus tårnet
Århus is Jutland's capital and the second largest city in Denmark. The city's economic growth is reliant upon communications, the food industry, electronics, textiles, iron, steel, Danish design, and its harbor.
Originally, Århus was a Viking settlement founded as early as the tenth century. Its name means "estuary," and comes from its position at the mouth of a river. Today, Århus is a cultural center, a university town, and a lovely port city.
Århus is the biggest shopping area in Jutland and one of the busiest ports in Scandinavia. Some of the best woods and beaches Denmark has to offer are to the north and south of the city. Visitors coming from Copenhagen will quickly notice a much more relaxed atmosphere.
The Danes do things in style, and Arhus is no exception.
