The Bluenose ll built in 1963 a replica of the original 'Bluenose' which was a fishing schooner in the 1920s and 1930s. It raced against the American schooners and beat allcomers. The Bluenose ll is based in Lunenburg and does public tours. The other ship is the Picton Castle also based in Lunenburg. It is a training ship and does round the world sails training would be sailors. The Dory shop still builds dorys - a small rowboat that was carried by schooners and used by the crew to set nets for cod. The old French cemetery was used by the original settlers and then by the new protestants after 1753.
